Parish News for the 2nd Week in Ordinary Time

January 11, 2024 by James Elston in Weekly News

This Sunday is the 2nd in Ordinary Time. In the gospel reading we hear Jesus call Simon to be Peter the rock on which the church is built. Next week on the 18th January we begin the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity when we prayer more fervently for the church to be one as Jesus prayed for it to be, and also for the whole church to be reunited in communion with the See of Peter in Rome. Click here for the scripture readings.

Corsican Sunday
On Sunday 11th February, our Corsican friends will be joining us for their annual celebration of Filippo Antonio Pasquale de’ Paoli (1725-1807), the Corsican leader who was buried in our churchyard. After Mass there will traditional Corsican refreshments.
