Parish News for the 17th Week in Ordinary Time

July 27, 2023 by James Elston in Weekly News

This Sunday is the 17th in Ordinary Time. In the Gospel reading Jesus speaks in parables about searching and finding and he likens the Kingdom of God to a pearl of great value. In many ways this is a wake-up call not to take our life of faith for granted but instead to nurture the gift of faith that assures us that we are all beloved children of God.  Click here for the Scripture Readings.

Ghana Appeal 2023
We are aiming to support the building of teachers’ accommodation in rural Ghana. The Diocese of Mampong Ashanti has recently built a new school in the village of Didaso but teachers will have to sleep outside on the school porches. Two-bedroom houses will cost £3,000 each to build and we wouldlike to sponsor the building of one house. Please give generously! To donate, please speak to Fr. James or follow this link.
