Parish News for the 21st Week in Ordinary Time

August 24, 2023 by James Elston in Weekly News

This Sunday is the 21st in Ordinary Time. In the gospel Jesus gives Simon-Peter a new name, he calls him Cephas which means rock and so on S.Peter the whole edifice of the church is built. Pope Francis is the successor of S.Peter and so we pray for the day when the whole church throughout the world will be one again in union with Peter and his successors. Click here for the Scripture Readings.

Works in Church and date for your diary!
The repairs to the cracks and restoration of the interior of the church are progressing well and we hope that the scaffolding removal will begin tomorrow and completed next week. Mass on Sunday will be outside on the courtyard. Please put Saturday 30th September in your diary for 10am Choral Mass with Bishop Jonathan followed by drinks and canapés with short talks. 12-2pm buffet lunch and homemade cakes. All welcome

Silent Prayer Group will meet again at S. Paul’s Camden Square on Thursdays at 1pm on the 17th August and the 21st September. These short sessions of contemplative prayer are led by Judy Powell who is a Licensed Lay Minister and an experienced spiritual director. All welcome.
