Parish News for the 4th Week in Lent

March 7, 2024 by James Elston in Weekly News

This Sunday is the fourth in Lent otherwise known as Laetare Sunday or Refreshment Sunday. We take a little break from our Lenten fast and ‘rejoice’ as we look ahead to Easter. To reflect this change in tone the vestments worn in church on this Sunday are lightened from the sombre purple of repentance to rose pink.

It is also Mothering Sunday where we give thanks for our own earthly mother, living or departed and of course we honour Our Lady who is mother of us all.   Click here for the scripture readings.

It is also my last Sunday at Old S.Pancras so please join me for a drink after to mass to give thanks for all we have done together over the past 12 years.

Music and Readings for Passiontide
There will be an evening of music and readings for Passiontide at S. Andrews Holborn on Wednesday 20th March at 7pm, followed by a light supper and drinks. S. Andrew is a short walk from Chancery
