Weekly News

This Sunday is the Fourth in Lent and also Mothering Sunday. In our Gospel reading from Luke we hear the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Jesus paints a picture of God as a father who welcomes home his wayward son with open arms and forgiveness. The same love and forgiveness is offered to us too.

This Sunday is also known as Laetare Sunday or Refreshment Sunday, the disciplines of Lent are lifted as we refresh ourselves on the journey towards Easter, to reflect this the vestments at mass are lightened from penitential purple to the joy of Rose Pink.
