Parish News for the 5th Week in Ordinary Time
Weekly News
This Sunday is the 5th in Ordinary Time. In the Gospel reading we hear Jesus calling his first disciples away from their fishing nets to follow him. Following the way of Christ isn’t always easy but it is the only way to life in all it’s fullness. Click here for the Scripture Readings. Accession Day This Sunday is Accession Day marking exactly 70 years since Our Sovereign Lady Elizabeth became Queen on the death of her father, King George VI. And so this Sunday is the Platinum Jubilee of the longest reigning monarch in British history. We will pray for Her Majesty and the Royal Family at mass. Candlemas Bring & Share Lunch This Sunday in S. Paul’s Camden Square at 12.30pm, following the 11.30am Sung Mass. Corsican Sunday Sunday 13th February, our Corsican friends will be joining us for their annual celebration of Filippo Antonio Pasquale de’ Paoli (1725- 1807), the Corsican leader who was buried in our churchyard. After Mass there will traditional Corsican refreshments and a short musical recital in church. Winter Night Shelter Many Churches across the Borough of Camden are working with the charity C4WS to provide a homeless shelter during the coldest months of the year. We have been allocated the 18th and 19th February. The shelter will be located in an hotel by Euston and we are looking for people to help prepare and serve food, to change beds and wash up etc. If you are willing to volunteer please speak to Nicolas for more details. |
