Parish News for the 7th Week in Ordinary Time

February 16, 2023 by James Elston in Weekly News

This Sunday is the 7th in Ordinary Time. In the Gospel reading Jesus gives us some of his hardest teaching. At the heart of it is the command to love our enemies. But it is important to remember that the love we show to our enemies is not a feeling but an acknowledgment that all of us are made in God’s image and loved by him no matter how far we might fall.

Pancake Party
Come and celebrate Shrove Tuesday with traditional pancakes and drinks following the 6.30pm mass on the 21st February

Ash Wednesday
This year Ash Wednesday falls on 22nd February. At 6.30pm we will join together for a Solemn Mass with imposition of ashes. A choir will sing the Four Part Mass by William Byrd. This is a Holy Day of Obligation as we begin the season of Lent.

The Silent Prayer Group will meet again at S. Paul’s Camden Square on Thursdays 16th February, 23rd March and the 27th April at 1pm. All welcome.
